Welcome! If you can’t find what you need below, email us at pseidkarbasi@gmail.com.
Getting Started
Tap the + button on the home screen to create a habit. Choose a name, icon, color, and schedule:
- Daily — every day
- Specific days — pick which weekdays
- Times per week — a flexible weekly target (e.g. 3× per week)
You can also set a daily target of 2, 3, or more if you want to check in multiple times a day.
Checking In
Tap the camera icon next to any habit to check in with a proof photo. After capturing your photo, you can optionally add a short note. Check-ins count toward your streak once saved.
Already checked in today? Tap the camera again to replace your photo.
Streaks & Frequency
- Daily habits — your streak resets if you miss a single scheduled day.
- Specific-day habits — only scheduled days count. Off-days don’t break your streak.
- Weekly-target habits — track progress against your target by Sunday.
Tap any habit to see your 30-day calendar grid and scroll through past check-in photos.
Home Screen Widget
Add a widget to see today’s progress at a glance — your completion ring and the habits still to do.
To add: long-press your home screen → tap + → search “Photo Habit Tracker” → add the widget.
Reminders & Notifications
Set a per-habit reminder time and an optional evening streak alert from each habit’s notification settings. Reminders automatically reschedule on every app launch, so they keep firing even after iOS updates.
Make sure notifications are enabled in iOS Settings → Photo Habit Tracker → Notifications.
Daily Insights
Every morning, a bite-sized habit-science card appears on your home screen — drawn from books like Atomic Habits, Tiny Habits, and The Power of Habit. Tap to read, bookmark your favorites, or share them. Configure the delivery time in Settings.
Accountability Buddy
Connect with a friend to share habit progress and cheer each other on.
Setup: Go to the Buddies section (tap your avatar on the home screen, or go to Settings → Accountability Buddies). Choose a display name — names are unique across all users. Your phone number is hashed with SHA-256 on-device; the raw number is never sent to our servers.
Finding friends: Use “Find Friends from Contacts” to discover friends who already use the app. Only hashed phone numbers are compared — raw numbers and contact names never leave your device. You can also share your 6-character invite code directly.
Using it: View your buddy’s habits and streaks on your home screen. Send reaction emojis (🎉 🔥 💯 ❤️) or tap “Send Reminder” to nudge them. You’ll see their reactions on your habits too.
Notifications: When your buddy checks in, you get a push notification with their streak info. If they have a proof photo, it appears on your lock screen. When someone accepts your buddy request, you get notified instantly.
Removing a buddy: Tap the ✕ next to their name in the Buddies section. You can re-add them later.
Pods — Group Accountability
Pods are small groups of up to 5 people. Everyone in a pod sees everyone else’s habits and check-in photos.
Creating a pod: Go to the Buddies section → Your Pods → Create Pod. Name it something your group will recognize — “Morning Meditators,” “Run Club,” etc. You’ll get a 6-character invite code to share.
Joining a pod: Enter a pod code in the Buddies section, or have a buddy add you directly from the pod detail screen (one tap — no code needed for existing buddies).
Pod avatars: Pod creators can upload a group photo. Tap the avatar in the pod detail screen to change it.
Leaving or deleting: Any member can leave a pod at any time. Pod creators can delete the pod, which removes all members and sends them a notification.
Profile Photos
Tap your avatar in the top-left of the home screen to see your profile photo full-size or upload a new one. Your photo is visible to your buddies and pod members.
Changing your photo: Tap your avatar → Change Photo → pick from your library → crop to square.
Removing your photo: Tap your avatar → Remove Photo. Your avatar reverts to a colored-initials fallback.
Buddy and pod member avatars also appear throughout the app — tap any avatar to see it full-size.
Backup & Restore
Export all your habits, photos, and notes to a JSON file from Settings → Export Backup. Save it to iCloud Drive, Files, Google Drive, or Dropbox.
To restore on a new device: install the app → Settings → Import Backup → select your file.
Privacy & Terms
Your data: Habits, check-in notes, and completion history stay on your device. If you use the Buddy or Pods features, check-in proof photos are uploaded to a private server so your accountability partners can view them. Check-in photos are automatically deleted after 180 days. Profile photos and pod avatars persist until you remove them or delete your account.
What we never do: We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, profile you, or share it with any third party for marketing. There are no ad networks or tracking SDKs in the app.
Deleting your data: Go to Settings → Delete Cloud Data to permanently remove your buddy profile, pod memberships, all photos, and all server-side records. This cannot be undone.

Troubleshooting
Camera not working?
Enable camera access in iOS Settings → Photo Habit Tracker → Camera.
Habit disappeared?
Check the day — habits not scheduled for today appear under “Other Habits” further down the home screen.
Can’t find friends from contacts?
Make sure you’ve granted contact access. Your friends also need to have completed the Accountability Buddy setup with a phone number on their end.
Buddy or pod data not updating?
Pull down to refresh on the home screen. Make sure you have an internet connection and your buddy request has been accepted.
Notifications stopped?
Relaunch the app (this reschedules all notifications). Check iOS Settings → Photo Habit Tracker → Notifications to make sure they’re enabled.
Lost my data?
On-device data can only be restored from a prior export (Settings → Import Backup). There is no server-side backup of your habits or photos. We recommend keeping a recent export in iCloud Drive.
How do I find my user ID for bug reports?
Go to Settings → tap “Photo Habit Tracker” 5 times. Your user ID appears in small text — copy it and include it in your email.
System Requirements
iPhone running iOS 17.0 or later.
